Friday Fun Cards with Meghan!!!

Hello everyone! Are you guys ready for school to start again? Me too!!!

Oh, I mean… me neither. Lol.

Actually, I just started a new job, managing a school cafeteria. So I’m busy, busy, busy. But, I wanted to share how much fun I had this month with my DT package!!!

This month it was ALL about Action Wobbles! If you don’t know, Action Wobbles are these funky little springs that you can attach to your embellishments, and then to your projects, so they move! I dare you to use one on a project and not have fun playing with it! And with the excitement I had for these cute springs, I decided that August would be a month of card videos on Fridays. I called this video series, Friday Fun Cards with Meghan. Below I will tell you a little about the cards, and attach the video. Please be kind, as I work out the sound issues. The first 2 videos the sound is horrible and jumpy. :( So Sorry about that. The third video is just music with captions. But, by the fourth, I have worked out the sound problems, and actually made the video kinda fun with music and fast forwarding the assembly process!! So, without further adieu…

My first card featured paper from the Happy Days 6×6 paper pad, and some Kat Scrappiness felt Balloons, that I put together and added an Action Wobble to the back. You can watch me assemble the card here:

My second card featured (again) paper from the Happy Days 6×6 pad, as well as an adorable felt cupcake, on an Action Wobble. And I finished one card off with some of the new paper rosettes, and the other with felt flowers. So adorable! See that video here:

My third card featured felt clouds, as well as a wonderful chipboard airplane, on an Action Wobble, that I embossed with silver tinsel. I REALLY love the effect of the silver tinsel. :) Enjoy the video:

My final card has paper from the Times and Seasons 6×6 paper pad. This card was so fun to make. I used a chipboard bird house, and bronzed it with Lindy’s Stamp Gang, Cocoa Bean Copper color. I also blacked out the middle with a black marker to make it look like a hole. I then finished it all off with a felt bird on an Action Wobble. LOVE this video:

As you can see, Action Wobbles are SO easy to use, and FUN! They add that little something extra to your project that children, and adults alike, will enjoy! You can find Action Wobbles and ALL of the wonderful embellishments I’ve used here in the Kat Scrappiness shop.

Thank you so much for checking out my blog post, and videos. And again, I apologize about the sound issue, and it has been FIXED! Woot!

More Balsa Wood Goodness! (And Technique #3) from Kara

Balsa Wood Tag Card

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic fourth of July! I took a couple extra days off so I am having lots of crafty fun! (And I am hoping to have time to go see Brave…it looks so cute!)

I have a few cards to share with you today using some more of those gorgeous balsa wood die cuts from Kat.

Here’s the first:

I embossed the sentiment on the tag then used my Picket Fence Distress Stain to “paint” the balsa wood tag. I love the soft, vintage look you get with that stain. My fave! Here’s a close up of the tag:

I also created this card using the balsa wood hearts I made in my YouTube video (shown below).

And here is a close up of those hearts:

And just to give you one more idea…these balsa wood cuties can also be painted with acrylic paint and distress ink. And here’s another card:

All of these wonderful balsa wood goodies can be found at Kat Scrappiness…please let me know if you have any questions. You can also check out my video below for more details on how these cards were created!

Have a wonderful day!
